Maybe you’ve heard the version of our story that starts with a fender bender. Or maybe you’ve heard the version that starts with us fighting over a puppy (that one’s pretty cute).

But the truth is, our story begins like all great modern love stories: on Tinder.

Vince still claims he left his profile “accidentally on.” And in true Vince fashion, he had the most chaotic profile I had ever seen. Pictures in full helmets, from behind, silhouetted, with and without the mustache—there was truly no way to tell what this man looked like. But the profile of this self-described “punk nerd” caught my eye, and I swiped right.

Within moments of matching, we were swapping book recommendations, sci-fi favorites, and family histories, falling into an easy conversation that felt too good to be true. The next day, we had our first date: drinks at the glass shop followed by salsa dancing in Paia. It was the best first date I’ve ever had. And the rest is history. :)

Over the past almost four years, we’ve weathered major disasters, medical scares, and two kitties (not disasters per se, but certainly troublemakers). We’ve built a beautiful life in the Little Green Hale and have traveled the world along the way.

On January 18, 2026, Vince took me on a magical hike on Oahu and proposed (spoiler alert: I said yes—and cried a LOT).

Now, we’re ready to start this next chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with you all.
